Every summer millions of Americans go on vacations. Many go to a beach to enjoy the surf. Others enjoy the mountains for the cool nights. Still others like to visit other countries. but most of us want to get away from the “daily grind” so that we can come back to work refreshed and with a new perspective.
What I’ve been doing this summer besides traveling.
Eating: at Bonefish in Southlake, Texas – a seafood restaurant. Had delicious Bang Bang Shrimp and Crab Cakes and really good Key Lime Pie.
Listening: to Il Divo. They are still putting out great music.
Buying: Soaker hoses from Garden.com to keep my garden alive.
Cooking: Make ahead meals- chicken artichoke spinach lasagna roll-ups, soups, flatlander chili, bacon wrapped meatloaf, chimichangas. Freezing vegetables from the garden. For the recipe for the chicken roll-ups go here:http://www.goodlifeeats.com/2013/04/chicken-artichoke-and-mushroom-lasagna-rolls.html

I like attending conferences and catching up on reading. It’s too hot to do much else. unless it’s to go somewhere cool.

Hey, Thorne, I’m with you on the cool weather. Scotland is great this time of year. Cool and green. I didn’t read much when I was there. I was too busy taking notes.
