The Wife Maker: A Book Review and $25 Blog Tour Giveaway

Wife Maker (1)

The Wife Maker Synopsis

Charlotte has spent years as the husband maker, sending every guy she dates off to enjoy marital bliss with the next girl he dates. But things have now changed, and she’s determined to use her husband-maker abilities one last time–on herself. And she finally knows exactly who she wants.

Angus has loved Charlotte since they were teenagers, but he’s tired of waiting for her to realize how good they could be. She’s broken his heart one too many times, and it’s time to move on with his life. Maybe a position halfway across the country will be just what he needs to get over her. But when Charlotte won’t let him go without a fight, Angus has to decide if he’s willing to let her in again or if she’s too late.

Review:

The Wife Maker is the third and last book in a trilogy. If you haven’t read The Husband Maker and The Matchmaker (books one and two), read these books first. All 3 books are good. There were twists and turns I didn’t expect. It was just a very good series, though I waited until the publication of The Wife Maker to read all three because of cliff hangers which I hate. At the beginning of this book, Charlotte has decided she’s in love with Angus, but he has moved away. He doesn’t make it easy, since she’s left him dangling for years and being a rebound guy isn’t on his agenda. This last book filled with tension, heartache, and  laughter  has a happy ending.

PROS: Angus is  a good guy and a friend to Charlotte who is a sweet and compassionate woman. They are real, funny and likeable characters resonating with the reader. This book was wasn’t too long. The writing is crisp with excellent pacing and witty dialogue.

CONS: You have to read Book One And Book Two before Book Three to fully appreciate the novel. The story had an epilogue that should have completed the journey but I felt like it wasn’t finished. After all the buildup why not a scene of the wedding (Wife Making event). instead of summing it up.

BOTTOM LINE:  I would recommend The Wife Maker as a touching story and good romance from  Karey White.
