ABOUT THE BOOK:
I have been a fan of the characters Pike Logan and Jennifer Cahill, members of the counterterroist unit called Taskforce, since the first book Brad wrote. This book is a continuation of Pike and Jennifer’s adventures. I like thrillers and this book is certainly that..Starting with action, the author just keeps on ratcheting up the tension with intense action through several countries. There are plot twists you don’t see coming .At the beginning of the book, the first plot twist occurs when Taskforce is fired which leaves Pike shocked and wondering about the reason. This doesn’t last long, however, when Colonel Kurt Hale asks both Pike and Jennifer to help in locating his niece, Kylie in England. Of course, we learn quickly that this is only a piece of the puzzle when other relatives of the Military and US Government are targeted.
When you think you know the direction the book is taking it changes locations and more diversions are created where all seem interconnected..Then add in the great characterization of the great main characters and antagonists who are truly evil. Of course, the pacing is superb and the story keeps moving along at a fast clip.
Another thing I really like is the authenticity of the scenes and the subject which is very real in today’s political climate. The story is also made more realistic with explanations of technology such as how the Radar scope for imaging works and an electromagnetic pulse gun used by one of the Taskforce members..
Brad Taylor has written another great book.
